I thought I missed something. This episode was in colour when all the previous ones were in black and white.

Frank Marker does not let grass grow under his feet after leaving his previous job. He is looking for an office and striking out on his own as an enquiry agent.

His parole officer is concerned. Frank's lack of financial acutement was the reason why he landed in hot water.

Essentially this is an episode about Mrs Mortimer and Rosemary, one half of a young couple who are staying at the guest house for a few nights.

Mrs Mortimer's estranged husband arrives after some years. He has heard about Frank and calls him an opportunist.

However Mrs Mortimer knows deep down that it is her husband who is arrogant and an opportunist. He is here for a reason and maybe needs his wife so he can display an image of family harmony for his own employment prospects.

It is the same for the young couple. The boorish Peter wants fun with his girlfriend Rosemary but he has no wish to be tied down with a job and a mortgage like his father and brother. This leaves Rosemary upset who has not told her parents that she is spending a few nights with her boyfriend. She just a prop being used by Peter and will soon be discarded unless he gets out first.

It really is a character study. Frank has no time for domestics and his parole officer sees him as a lone wolf. Something he warns Mrs Mortimer about.
