Episode 511 "My partner… my husband was critically injured last night in the bombing. Nearly died. If I lived in a bubble, it just burst." ~Ben

This episode was just incredible. In the final moments, I was reminded of the very first episode, the very first time that we see Brian lay eyes on Justin and the journey that this series has brought us on. In many ways, this episode would have been an extremely satisfying series finale. It ended with loads of hope, lots of love, and it was filled with several spectacular scenes. Hunter's return, Ted bringing Michael flowers after finally accepting that Michael's injuries weren't his fault, Melanie and Lindsay deciding to move elsewhere, Drew Boyd and Emmett in what seems to be complete happiness, and finally one of my favorite scenes in the series with Brian and Justin engaged and in the mansion all make this episode simply perfect. It's so refreshing, after five long years, to hear Brian tell Justin that he loves him. Amazing episode.

The first scene made me worried for a second because I thought it was indeed Michael's funeral. A very good idea to do it. In reality it was the funeral of Brian as we know him. In a way I am upset. The scene when Brian brings Justin to the new home and Justin agrees to get married was beautiful. At the same time, did Brian really have to change that much? Sure, the tragedy in Babylon opened his eyes that he loves Justin and wants to be with him, but he could have done it without completely changing who he is. He could be in a loving marriage and still be the Brian who loves to have fun and have his club. I am upset because this isn't Brian anymore, how can it be Brian living a suburban life in a country house? There are married people in the city too, raising a family and being happy

It was great to see how everyone was dealing with their emotions after the explosion. Ted blaming himself for Michael's injuries, Emmett being scared of getting out. And them both going over it by having a conversation. It does seem a bit rushed how they dealt with it. I assume there just wasn't enough time left for giving it more depth.

The scene where they are at the vigil and the protesters come is great as well. The sad thing is that it seems so unbelievable that people can be so heartless and disgusting and yet it isn't made up, it really does happen. The moment when Debbie is talking about Michael and someone yells "Your son should have died" makes one gasp. And it is great to see Ben, who is so much into peace and reason losing it and beating him up. And the conversation he has with Brian in the car is wonderfully written.

And it was also great to see Hunter show up again. It brings us closer to a happy ending for their family
