Tissue of Truth begins with a kidnapper burying a teenage boy in a deep hole and providing him with an oxygen supply which will keep him alive for a limited period of time. The kidnapper then demands a large ransom from the teenager's wealthy family and Lt. Monahan (Garry Walberg) is called in to set up a sting operation, but this is foiled during the money exchange when a cop unaware of the situation gives chase. This causes the kidnapper to run his car off the road which kills him upon impact. Since the kidnapper died without revealing the location of the boy, Quincy (Jack Klugman) and the police must work together diligently to identify his location with the few clues they have.
This is a pretty decent episode overall with an interesting story and it is well worth watching. My only complaints are that it does not feature a murder mystery, and some of the ways in which evidence was gathered to move the investigation forward were pretty far-fetched and lucky. I get it that the production team was probably trying to change things up every so often so that it wasn't always a murder mystery of the week style series, but I tend to enjoy those episodes better. This is just a personal preference, whereas others might find this type of episode just as riveting.
All in all, this is a good Season 3 episode with plenty of action and suspense throughout which most should find entertaining, just don't expect a murder mystery.
