Speechmaker Cyril
Cyril takes in Knox's nephew Bonneville (Jeremiah McCann) for the weekend so he can sign a deal with Knox. They never say what the deal is, but after all of the development Cyril and Knox have gone through, I'm sure it's something responsible. However, Bonneville turns out to be a bully and raises havoc for Cedric and the Pigs. Bert, meanwhile, is determined to help him.
Cedric has come a long way from the wimp he was in the specials, showing that, like Bert, his patience has limits.
Once again, the episode is padded out with a musical montage, this time centered on the pigs, and it feels like a joke that goes nowhere.
Cyril, who began the series as a cackling villain, has become nicer and nicer, to the point where he only mentions money offhand, and isn't so reckless with resources, so to speak. It's a very mature move on the show's part. It's like watching Mr. Krabs in reverse. In that time he has also resorted to making speeches. That's also nice but he does it a lot.
Because Cyril himself is a parent, he has a soft spot for children, and I think that is what has driven his development. He's not only notoriously protective of Cedric, even in his nastier days, but has shown kindness towards Ralph's nephew Bentley and niece Lisa.
All in all, his transformation into a crusty old miser with a heart of gold is complete.
Bonneville, meanwhile, is surprisingly sympathetic, or perhaps not surprisingly so since he's only a child. Bert and Cedric call him names behind his back, which is inappropriate since they're grown men, but he did need to be knocked down a peg.
