I wish I could say I liked this first part of a two part Rawhide story a bit better. This one involves Eric Fleming and the herd and the drovers running into one crafty conman Fritz Weaver who is trying to get his railroad built by hook or crook preferably the latter.
I won't go into how, that's for you to see, but he winds up with the herd, the supplies, the men and his girlfriend and accomplice Barbara Eden even wind up with Fleming's boots.
The problem is that for 7 years Eric Fleming built up Gil Favor as a strong responsible man with a temper at times, but never dumb. He really looks stupid here.
It doesn't quite work, but there's part two to see how Fleming resolves the situation.
