- Quotes
Gil Favor: Those cows have a right to bellow. On a drive like this, they often have to go for days without grass or water. The men drivin' 'em have a right to gripe. Often they have to go without food, water, and sleep. I have a right to worry about both, man and beast. That's part of my job. I'm Gil Favor, trail boss.

Nothing but women?
Eight stars. A splendid little morality tale, wrapped up in a western blanket. At its best, Rawhide served up these nuggets that worked both as action
vehicles and examinations of human nature. Here we have a crazy set-up, with
our heros suddenly hearing explosions that spook the herd. Gotta deal with
that. . . .
The peeling back of the mystery begins with Gil and Rowdy running into a camp of nothing but women. And then a second camp. The guest cast is very often what makes a Rawhide episode really sing. And here Brian Keith, Adam Williams, and Phillis Avery deliver. Williams is brilliantly creepy as the crazed Kellino, and Keith shows that he never really could play an all-bad character. This is 51 minutes of pure early TV gold. Well worth a watch. But if you're digging it up on Y00-tube, be careful to pick a version with the full run-time. The first one I found chopped about four minutes from the front and back. 21 August 2024.
