Clint Eastwood: Rowdy Yates

Quotes

  • Lissa Hobson : Oh, listen. I hear him singing every night. Do they do that to put the cattle to sleep?

Rowdy Yates : Singing like that wouldn't put anything to sleep. More like the other way 'round.

Lissa Hobson : Why'd they do it then?

Rowdy Yates : You gotta let the cows know where you are. You sneak up on them, they, ah, unexpectedly and they just liable to stampede.

Lissa Hobson : You mean they just start running in every which way?

Rowdy Yates : Well, not every which way, usually they just pack together and run blind. Haven't you ever had a stampede even down Tennessee way?

Lissa Hobson : No, we never had much more than one or two cows at the most. I like the singing though. It's got a real restful sound.

Rowdy Yates : Well, you oughtta hear, Mr Favor, he's bad, but he's the best.

  • Gil Favor : Well, you forget where the herd is?

Rowdy Yates : This fellow Hobson, do you think I ought to put Scarlet on rifle guard?

Gil Favor : Fine. But who're you gonna fill in on drag?

Rowdy Yates : Well, I guess, anyway I look at it, there's only one man I can spare.

    Gil Favor : Huh?

    Rowdy Yates : Me!

  • Rowdy Yates : A fella once told me that moonbeams and dreams cause much more trouble than they're worth.
