Paul Chabas's famous painting "September Morn" can be seen on the wall of Steele's hotel room. By sheer coincidence, the New Jersey alternative band Winter Hours also used it on the cover of their EP Wait Till the Morning the following year.
Gretchen Wyler who plays a widow (Judy Fishbane) in this episode would later play Mrs. Burkart, the widow who's reluctant to pay Monica for catering her husband's wake, in the Friends episode "The One With the Dirty Girl".
