- Janet is peacefully sleeping while Tommy's getting dressed but he hurries to Katie's room when he hears her cries out "Daddy!" She tells him she had a bad dream and she saw a ghost. After telling her there's no such thing as ghosts, he asks her "did he look like anyone we know?" "No, he was mean and ugly."
Jimmy appears in the bathroom, saying "Denial, Tom, is a bitch." Tommy eats one of Janets pills and spars with Jimmy some more.
Mike and Sean play Scrabble at the station, using mostly two-letter words, till Mike excitedly comes up with "fell". Angel, firefighter from 67 Truck downtown, comes in asking for Laura, who goes with, much to Franco's displeasure. Before scooting out the door with Angel, she helps Sean make the word "fellatio," prompting Tommy to help Probie form "autofellatio," which Sean says he thought meant getting a blow job in a car.
Sheila and Debbie fawn over each other while sunning outside, till Damien sprays them with a waterhose. Damien hints to Sheila he might become a firefighter, freaking her out, saying she has to call Tommy, pissing off Debbie.
Franco confronts Tommy about his relationship with Laura and tells him since he's been taking the pills, he's not the lyin', cheatin', sceamin', skirt-chasin' son-of-a-bitch he remembers, and he can't trust him as far as he can throw him.
Tommy, with Connor in tow, agrees to go to Aunt Sheilas and talk to Damien, but after a heart-to-heart, with Jimmy's ghost assisting, ends up agreeing it might not be such a bad thing, telling him theres nothing like it, and gives Damien Jimmy's badge, telling him he is entitled to his dads badge number, should he decide to do it.
Franco says seeing Sean reading a book is the first sign of the apocalypse, but Sean explains he is reading a dictionary, boning up for his next game with Laura. He asks Franco what's up with Laura and that Ricky Martin lookin' dude, then assures him he thinks she's just trying to make Franco jealous. He says Franco should bring a hot chick around to make Laura think she's his new squeeze. Although Franco says "thats, like, totally adolescent," after Laura walks into the conversation, bullshits about the new chick he's seeing, which doesn't seem to bother her.
Jerry's neighbor Rose brings his wife Jeanne to the station. Jerry introduces them to the guys, but Jeanne gets confused about where she is, making all uncomfortable.
Lou is at Candy's, and she gets another one of those business calls from her pimp and she asks him if he's considered that thing she asked him about. Lou is happy she's thinking about letting him buy her contract, getting her out of the business to be with him.
Jerry and Rose talk about Jeanne's condition and he tells her she's to care for her at home, and not to bring her to the station, claiming he's not embarrassed by his wife, but is concerned for her.
Franco shows Sean the porn magazine starring the make-believe girlfriend he plans to bring to the station to make Laura jealous.
The guys, and Laura, go on a fire and she confronts Tommy about "looking" at her. When Tommy fails her "ultimate test" of knowing what color her eyes are, she finally believes he doesn't have a thing for her. He tells her workplace things never work out.
Tommy brings his dad and Uncle Teddy, who he just got out of jail in Atlantic City for blowjob hunting, home, where they find his dad's new wife dead on the floor, being eaten by the cats, who haven't been fed for the three days he and Teddy have been out carousing. Tommy realizes his dad is now rich - $52 million rich, and they all dance around in celebration.
Janet and Tommy both eat a pill from the bathroom medicine chest as they get ready for a party, then talk in his truck about getting Connor that baseball mitt he had been promising to get. She tells Tommy that Connor told her he was going to be a fireman, "because it was in his blood, and in his bones." Tommy dismisses it, saying it's just stupid Third Watch reruns making him say that stuff.
Candy tells Lou her pimp has agreed to let her out of her contract for $30,000. After regaining his composure, Lou tells her he has some money squirreled away from his ex-wife, and insists he wants to help her out, though she initially refuses any help, saying she has five grand in savings, and could take on more clients.
Sean tells Tommy the guys don't want him to be captain of the hockey team because of the way he's been acting lately, prompting Tommy to put Janet's pills back into her purse without taking any.
The next morning, Tommy's a crab at breakfast, chiding Janet for not waking him up and making him late for work, and complaining about pulp - all pulp, orange juice pulp, that stupid British band named Pulp, Pulp Fiction - Quinton Tarrintino, and the Kill Bill movies, before slamming the door on his way out.
Laura and Sean are playing Scrabble when Franco's fake girl-friend, porn star Chrissy, comes in, introducing herself to everyone, including Laura, who only smiles to herself.
Tommy shows up at the hockey rink just as someone is chosen to replace him, and punches the guy out, asking the others "anybody else? Didn't think so."
Laura calls Franco, asking him if he's still on his date. He tells her no, and she says they have to talk.
On the ice, Tommy proves the bitch is back, kicking ass, literally and figuratively, seriously injuring an opponent. Before driving home, he pulls a bottle from the glovebox and takes a drink. He sees Jimmy and Billy driving alongside him, goading him.
Laura and Franco meet, they talk, and she gives him a kiss on the cheek before departing, leaving him standing on the sidewalk.
Tommy wakes Connor and Katy to show Connor the mitt and the bicycle he got him, and Katy the PSP he got her.
Franco punches Tommy for telling Laura she was suffocating Franco, and that their relationship was somehow related to the one Seigfried has with Roy.
