Did you know
- TriviaEven though the stage just left Northfork, there is only one set of tracks shown on the street. Those are from Lucas's buckboard.
- GoofsLucas confronts Billy Benson and shoots the decorative wooden balls off of the top of the Madera House sign. He looks at Billy once & the second time he looks at him he starts to turn to the right to face him. The next shot is a close up of McCain & he again starts to turn to the right to face him.
- Quotes
Mark McCain: Did you like Miss Claremont?
Lucas McCain: I liked her better than her husband.
Mark McCain: I don't mean that. I mean, did you like her!
Lucas McCain: I said I liked her. Look, Mark. A man, especially out here, comes to expect very little that's pretty. And when he does stumble across it, he can stop to admire it for what it is - beauty. It's like, well it's like, looking at a sunset or a pretty picture painting. You can admire them and appreciate them without wanting to own them.
- Crazy creditsChuck Connors breaks the 4th wall in the opening credits after he shoots his rifle and then stares into the camera.
With that story gone Byron Claremont begins to write about another fast gunman, Lucas McCain. Without any knowledge Lucas finds out that Claremount has been running a series on him with the title of the fast man with a rifle. It is not long before another gunman comes to town, kills the man who shot Billings and now is looking for McCain.
The show also contained the beautiful Joanna Moore that played the newspaper man's wife. Even though she is always great on the screen, her part was written large but added little to the plot. The story was entertaining right from the start and needed no side stories to keep the viewer interested. One of the episodes that was filled with excitement from the start till the conclusion. Good show.
