An episode that did NOT age well

Warning: Spoilers
So, I'm a huge Avonlea fan. Recently I popped in a random DVD and this episode popped up.

It has not "aged" well at all😱.

I mean, I get it. Sarah has "father issues". She's basically orphaned and living in a small town. She's all angsty at 14 and is infatuated with a father figure.

But that doesn't really matter cuz she is "mesmerized" by this GROWN UP MAN who could be her OLDER AGED father! 27 years apart.

Even Sarah Polley didn't "get it" when they were filming, but she had an AH-HA moment years later like "WTF wassup with that??" A major ick factor even if Treat Williams looked kinda younger. Like 30.

It was not usual back in the early 1900s for younger women to marry older men BUT that doesn't make it any less cuh-reepy cuz this was filmed in the 1990s!

It didn't hit me as odd the 1st few times I watched it....no clue why🤷‍♀️

Thankfully it was only a crush a no kissing...they saved that for the weird Felicity and Gus Pike actors who are 12 years apart 😳 at 14 and 26 in "How Kissing Was Invented".

Seriously?

Warning: Spoilers
A 13 year old girl having a crush on a man in his 40s and she claims to be tired boys. She's never even had a relationship at this point. In the real world that can be a very dangerous situation. This is way out of character for her, and considering the star of the series is being portrayed even less, I guess I can't blame her for leaving the show ...
