Unlike many of the answering messages left, this one by Beth Davenport in which she tells Jim about looking after her cat, actually relates to the plot of this episode:
When Jim goes to Marty Frischette's house, Marty's watching a horse race prerecorded on a Betamax, which had been publicly introduced shortly before this episode's airing.
The oft-mentioned wealthy brother-in-law of Angel (only seen on 1978's "The Empty Frame") is central to this plot.
This is the first time Angel's full name is revealed as Evelyn "Angel" Martin.
At about 10 minutes into this episode, when Jim arrives back at his trailer with the two hoods and Angel screams, "No, Jimmy!" he runs to jump in Rocky's truck to get away. Just as he is leaps into the truck, his wallet fall to the ground. This was Stuart Margolin's own wallet falling unbeknownst to him, as it has nothing to do with the plot of the story.
