Trivial, almost tongue-in-cheek, standalone episode
The crew of the Silver Moon (Rocky, Biff, Vena and Bobby) head to the primitive world of Mandora to solve the mystery of the Ohio-made umbrella that was found there. This stand-alone episode (ignore the 'Part 1' after the title) doesn't really make much sense and is played mostly for comedy. Once again we get a lesson in the classics as Bobby recounts the tale of Androcles when Vena removes a thorn from a wolf-dogs paw (setting up an inevitable climatic event). Despite an attempt at exposition, the presence of Miss Pilkington (Ida Moore), an elderly woman living in what looks like 19th century drawing room strains credibility (even for a Rocky Jones adventure) and that she survives by making slingshots for the natives borders on the surreal. If you are in the mood for some antique space opera, you can find a lot more entertainment value in one of the 3-parters...but if your goal is to watch all of Rocky's adventures, this 25 inconsequential minutes will pass pretty quickly (and Miss Pilkington's ultimate rational for staying on the savage planet is realistically 'human').
