Officer Willie Gillis: [Officer Willie Gillis is in his hospital room, after being admitted to the hospital for possible exposure to meningitis. He's sitting up in bed, rubbing the back of his neck when the door opens. Officers Mike Danko and Terry Webster enter the room. Willie looks up and smiles broadly] Hey, guys...
Officer Mike Danko: [Mike and Terry, seeing that willing is not appearing to be sick, can't resist teasing him a little. Mike, referring to Willie relaxing in bed, speaks first] That's not bad duty...
Officer Willie Gillis: [Willie smiles and replies in kind] Yeah... terrible... If this meningitis doesn't get me soon, I'm gonna die of boredom.
Officer Terry Webster: [Terry sits down on the table next to the bed, next to Willie. He smiles and shakes his head then crosses his arms in amused disbelief] Boredom? It's only been a day and a half.
Officer Willie Gillis: [Willie looks at Terry, then at Mike. He smiles slightly, indicating Terry] He misses me. He's been counting the days.
Officer Terry Webster: [Mike grins knowingly. Terry, his arms still crossed, raises his eyebrows and stares at Willie amusedly] No, it's not that... it's just that yesterday was your day to take the garbage out.
Officer Willie Gillis: [Willie, reclining on his bed, shrugs his shoulders and looks at both Mike and Terry questioningly] So? Where is it?
Officer Mike Danko: [Mike isn't sure what Willie means. He looks at Willie as he answers] Garbage?
Officer Willie Gillis: [Willie starts gesturing with his hands to emphasize his request] No... books, magazines... treats.
Officer Terry Webster: [Terry smiles widely at Willie, as does Mike] Treats?
Officer Willie Gillis: [Willie folds his hands in his lap] Yeah... isn't it customary when you visit a friend on the hospital?
Officer Mike Danko: [Mike looks over at Terry then answers Willie's question] No treats... that's only for sickies, not for fakers.
[Willie scoots to the end of the bed, where the composite kit is set up on a bedtray. He proceeds to show them the composite he's working on for Lt Ryker; Mike and Terry then leave the room]
Officer Willie Gillis: [Willie smiles at Mike and Terry in farewell as they're walking out] Thanks for coming.
Fair episode, not one of the best but a significant one. Gillis may be infected with the disease, since he came into contact with Sneed when the latter fainted in the street. Sneed is played by Anthony Zerbe, a great character actor. Due to his evil eyes and leering smirk, he mostly played slimy villains and creeps. Sneed is also looking for revenge on his wife (Bridget Hanley of "Here Come The Brides") who had turned him in to the police. This was Michael Ontkean's final episode in the series, so this is the last time we see Officer Willie Gillis. His final scene shows him in a hospital bed eating pie ala mode. As of this writing, this is also the last episode on DVD. There appears to be some problem with getting Seasons 3 and 4 released, not sure if it is legal or the shows are lost or deteriorated. I have not seen these shows since they were broadcast, so I can't recall all of them. If I ever get a chance to see them again, I will continue to review the episodes. If anyone else has them, please review the shows if you can.
