Lou Tiano: Officer Jensen

Quotes

  • Officer Terry Webster : [Officer Bell, who was seriously wounded by one of the gunmen who invaded the precinct, is half-sitting, half-lying in a corner of the outer cellblock where he was shot. Officer Webster is kneeling next to him, doing his best to comfort him with soothing words. Two other officers are standing next to them, with their hands on the wall, unable to help, as the two thugs are holding them all at gunpoint. Webster speaks quietly to Bell]  Bell...?

Dort : [the thugs are standing in the doorway, with their guns pointed at the four officers. They're getting impatient, and force Officers Webster, Louden and and Jensen to pick up Officer Bell and bring him to a cell. As they are unarmed, they are forced to comply]  C'mon, pick him up! Move it!

Officer Bell : [Officer Webster and Officer Louden take Officer Bell's shoulders and Officer Jensen gets his feet; together, they carry Officer Bell over to an empty cell and lay him down on the bench. The thugs close the door, locking the four police officers inside the cell. Officer Bell, upon being picked up and moved, cries out in agony]  Ohhh... .ahhh... ..

Officer Louden : [Officers Webster and Louden squat down next to Officer Bell, who is in great pain from the bullet wound in his stomach. Officer Louden speaks to him quietly]  Easy... .

Officer Terry Webster : [Officer Bell is in great pain and he is breathing heavily. Officers Louden and Jensen are standing at the foot of the bench where Bell is lying. Officer Webster kneels on the floor at his head and speaks to him softly]  How is it, Bell?

Officer Bell : [Bell continues breathing heavily and he gasps a reply to Webster]  Ohhh... ohhh.. burns, Webster. My insides are burning like hell... aaaahhh!

Officer Jensen : [Officer Jensen, not sure about what to do, leans over toward Officer Webster and speaks in a loud whisper]  We gotta get a doctor... he needs a doctor!

Officer Louden : [Officer Louden, crouching in front of the bench, also looks at Webster]  I'm not too good at first aid; what about you, Webster?

Officer Terry Webster : [Officer Webster feels frustration about being unable to help or get help, and bites out a somewhat sarcastic reply]  Sure, I graduated medical school before I became a cop...

Walden : [the male prisoner in the cell across the hall speaks up]  Is he gonna die?

Officer Terry Webster : [Officer Webster looks over at the prisoner, as he knows it is imperative that he stay quiet and not upset Officer Bell further. He talks to him sharply, to make him shut up]  Will you get off of that?

[Officer Webster now turns to the other two officers]

Officer Terry Webster : Uh, look, either one of you wearing a t-shirt? Let me have your tshirts... First thing we've got to do is stop the bleeding.

[Webster moves over to Bell's side and starts to loosen his uniform shirt and belt. He's planning to use the officers' t-shirts to try to staunch the bleeding]

Officer Bell : [as Webster is attending to him, Bell cries out in agony]  Stop the pain, will you, Webster? Please... stop the pain!

[Bell raises his head, cries out again, then his head falls back on the bench]

    Officer Bell : Webster!

Officer Terry Webster : [Officer Webster puts his hand to Bell's face then he raises his eyelid]  He's unconscious.

    [Webster gets to his feet]

Officer Louden : [Officer Louden looks at Officer Bell, grateful that, at least momentarily, he's not suffering]  Thank God.

Officer Terry Webster : [Webster looks at Bell lying unconscious on the bench. He's feeling despair and knows they are helpless, being locked in the cell]  We've got to get him outta here.

Officer Jensen : [Officer Jensen looks around the cell helplessly]  How?

    Officer Terry Webster : I don't know...

[Webster steps away, unable to come up with an answer]
