This is the best episode of the series so far. It's about a woman who is trying to get revenge on the cop who helped put her husband in prison. That cop collapses at an awards ceremony and ends up in the hospital, where the woman holds him and the hospital staff hostage in order to prevent him from being operated on until her husband is released from prison. I won't reveal any more than that but suffice it to say this one is really good. Don't miss it!

Compelling, fascinating, well-acted and well-written. Jacqueline Scott is brilliantly fierce and scary as a venom-spewing vindictive woman filled with both too much hate and love who decides to take VIP hostages (including Jill Danko) in a most unlikely place (a hospital surgical suite) to get her demands met: her lover released from jail, money and an escape route.
The episode is gripping and logical, and doesn't require all that much suspension of disbelief given what was going on in California in the 1970s.
As noted, Jacqueline Scott is brilliant but the entire cast performs wonderfully and kudos all around.

Rita King is seeking revenge on the police captain who put away her boyfriend Claude. The captain is going in for emergency ulcer surgery so Rita and Claude's brother Arnie hold the doctors, nurses and the captain hostage in the operating room to bargain for Claude's release.
An entertaining episode, though not one of the best. Jacqueline Scott and Paul Carr play Rita and Arnie and they overact a bit but the writing is somewhat over the top and they have some nasty back and forth banter that makes for some laughs rather than suspense. The best scene is a surprise moment where Rita thinks Claude is dead with a sheet covered over him, but it is really Mike who jumps out and grabs her. Beverly Garland shows up as the captain's wife.
