Women Are Real People
dtucker8610 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is one episode that is really "dated" today. In fact, given that we live in an age of such political correctness, it is downright embarassing to watch. A group of radical feminist students at Walt Whitman are just mad as hell and they are not going to take it anymore. They are like Howard Beale in a dress as they band together to form an organization called WARP Women Are Real People. They stage a protest in the auto shop when the teacher actually says that women working on the cars would be too distracting to the male students (wince! He would be fired in an instant today!). It all comes to a head when a tall girl disguises herself as a boy and tries out for the basketball team showing that women can dunk just as well as their male counter parts. The basketball coach is an even more despicable sexist.

Some female students get a movement together called Women Are Real People and try convince the males that women are equal.

One of the best and funniest of Season 2. Funny scenes of the boys reacting to the group being interviewed for the school paper. One tall girl, Halloran, is a great basketball player and wants to be on the boys team. She disguises herself and makes the squad. The coach is played by William Bramley (Officer Krupke in "West Side Story").
