Warning: Spoilers
This is one "Laugh-In" ep that I really enjoyed! Once again, Dick Martin plugs John Wayne thinking he's on the show while partner Dan Rowan has to remind him he's not. The phrase "beautiful downtown Burbank" gets a real workout here as first we see film of Judy Carne and guest star Connie Stevens visiting the worst parts of that town while they sing a song about the place. Then Dan & Dick intro the real mayor of the place as they acknowledge how well he's taking the kidding in fun. Larry Storch of "F Troop" is the other guest and he's quite funny what he does here. Another music video showcases The Temptations as they play foreign legion soldiers having to deal with Arte Johnson's soldier Wolfgang. Other cameos come from Dinah Shore who was in the previous ep as well, Leonard Nimoy, Ed Platt who's the third from "Get Smart" to appear after Barbara Feldon and Don Adams, Buddy Hackett, and Jerry Lewis. Overall, this was one of the funniest "Laugh-In" eps I've seen yet! P.S. This is the second ep to not feature Ruth Buzzi.
