Don Rickles makes a welcome return to "Laugh-In"
tavm29 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Don Rickles returns as the special guest star on this ep of "Laugh-In" with a few cut-ins from David Frost. He mentions his last movie Kelly's Heroes a few times. He's also in a couple of good running skits-one in which he's a baby talking to another one and one in which after a woman hears some music from a small cabinet, he then gets something else from that same cabinet that basically is a "sock-it-to-me" type schtick-gag! Another funny running skit that doesn't involve Rickles is one based on Bob & Ted & Carol & Alice. From both this and the previous ep, Tyrone and Gladys have been in places other than the park bench with Gladys always unpleasantly surprised by Tyrone. The previous ep had them at a dance hall while this one has her as a stewardess (what a flight attendant was referred to at the time) with him basically stalking her on the plane! These sketches are as funny as ever even when one knows the resulting end of them! Noticeably missing from this particular ep is Henry Gibson. Anyway, this was another pretty funny ep of "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In".
