Despite Truman Capote, this seemed a bit underwhelming for an ep of "Laugh-In"
tavm9 September 2019
The show begins with the entire cast-with the exception of Dan, Dick, and Arte Johnson-singing to always keep laughing. If a lot of the skits that came up after that were actually funny, I might have. Some are lame retread of past skits. There also seemed to be leftover material featuring past guests like Ricardo Montalban, Wilt Chamberlain, and Mayor Sam Yorty. Truman Capote has more presence here than the previous ep of "Laugh-In" including being interviewed here by Dan & Dick for a few minutes. It's hard to tell if his replies to their questions were scripted or not but they were pretty funny whatever he said to them. Like I implied, there were some amusing things in this ep of "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" but the whole thing seemed a bit underwhelming. In fact, this may be the first ep of the show that I'm rating less than a 5...
