Joe Namath appeared in an okay ep of "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In"
tavm21 September 2019
The main guest star of this edition of "Laugh-In" is Joe Namath, NY Jets football star who gets lampooned about his playing and his womanizing. Many of his skits were pretty funny. Other guests are Petula Clark, Charo, Burt Mustin and Queenie Smith. Dan jokes with Petula about her hit song "Downtown". Charo reads jokes on the cue cards with Dan & Dick standing by. Many of those segments are pretty lame when she's reading in her accent though I did like it when Dick impersonated her moves. Burt and Queenie are amusing as the elderly couple. Dick has a skit spoofing "The Dating Game" called "The Aging Game" but neither Burt nor Queenie appear in that, instead Richard Dawson, Dennis Allen, and Alan Sues are the bachelor contestants for Ruth Buzzi to pick. This was a really lame one! I did like the ladies doing the "Laugh-In News" theme dressing as Little Orphan Annies complete with the white circles on their eyes! (I wonder if there were little holes in those white circles so they could actually watch themselves while dancing!) This was an okay ep of "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In".
