Roy, Dale, Pat, and Bullet travel to the nearby town of Maricopa Falls. Later, however, Dale refers to the town as Pine Falls. Dale tells Mayor Ralph Colton that she has money she wants to invest in the town, but actually they are there to investigate charges of corruption in the city government. Ralph is a former well known sheriff, but he sure acts suspiciously. Ralph's mother arrives for a visit and insists that the RR gang accept their hospitality. The Bad Boy Wiley outlaw gang robs the town safe but Roy manages to get a hat belonging to one of the outlaws. That proves to be a big clue. Why does Ralph seem to be helping the Bad Boy Wiley Gang? Has he gone bad? Or is it something else? Harry Lauter is quite good as the conflicted Roy Colton. Denver Pyle is properly nasty as Bad Boy Wiley. And veteran actress Dorothy Vaughan does her usual believable job as Ma Colton. This a very good episode with plenty of action and displays fine character development for a thirty minute program.
