I have a lot to say about this TV show. As far as Season 3 goes, my criticism was that the supposedly lovable character is totally self-centered. There isn't enough evidence in the script that she deserves to be a likable character. She is a total exemplification of the 'me' generation, 'I want it now, Dammit!' and since millions of little girls lapped this up, the show had considerable influence on psyches. If you'd take a closer look at Season 3, Sabrina isn't a much better person than bad girl Libby, and this just bugs me.

Anyway, this episode kicks off Season 4. Again, we have the two most grating performers imaginable, Zelda and Hilda. I cannot be bothered to check up on the actresses' names. Which is which of these witches? Who cares? Had I been the director,I'd have fired them instantly. :(

Britney Spears is the surprise guest star. That overrides everything else. The rating of 7 is for Britney. Without Britney being in this, I wouldn't even have bothered to talk about this entire series again. But as it turned out, the popularity of SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH led to Melissa Joan Hart being cast in DRIVE ME CRAZY the big studio teen movie of its time, utilizing the Britney Spears hit song as its theme.

As the end title sequence, you are actually going to get to see the music video of DRIVE ME CRAZY, so you are in for a treat, lucky viewer! Britney has an acting sequence, it is very short, but she totally outshines MJH, who is totally shown up as the less-than-stellar performer she actually is. Anyway, you will also see MJH in the music video, performing with Britney.

Melissa was a whole lot better in DRIVE ME CRAZY, so why such an unlikable* performance here?

*I am well aware that the considerable majority of viewers won't agree with me. But it seemed to be part and parcel of the spellcaster TV shows, the other one being CHARMED, the characters of that one quickly turning into irritating sure- to-be-spinsters had it been real life. I will admit that it is less obvious in STTW, but...

This show needs a cute kid as the star. MJH fits the bill to some extent, but not completely. Guess what though? Paula Hart, the driving force, the eponymous chief of the production company, is her mother...
