Title derives from a line originating in Ovid's Amore: "O lente, lente currite noctis equi", which Dawlt recites after confessing to Sam. Was later used in Marlowe's Dr. Faustus. Both the Ovidian and Faustian essences could apply to Dawlt's situation.
