"Carol" features a rare appearance from Whitman Mayo's Grady Wilson, delivering a package to Fred containing a ball of sterling silver, worth around $400. An attached note identifies the sender as someone named Carol, due to arrive in L.A. for a visit. Fred and Grady get dressed up, only to learn that Carol Rhodes (Spo-De-Odee) is an old buddy from Buffalo, spending a night on the town with Fred, who has no idea who he is. Lamont is told by Carol that his Pop collaborated on a bank robbery in Cleveland 40 years earlier, though Fred had no memory of it until Carol reminded him of his pool hustling days. Now Carol plans to keep his word by giving his partner in crime half the haul of $150,000. Grady appears in just one further episode.
