Second and final appearance of Alma Beltran as Julio's mother
kevinolzak11 December 2016
"Fuentes, Fuentes, Sanford & Chico" finds rival junk dealers Lamont and Julio discussing working together on a side business in used auto parts (they would later combine junkyards in "The Merger"). Fred of course isn't happy about this arrangement, thinking up the perfect name for the endeavor: "Julio and Damn Foolio!" Julio shares the good news with the unapologetic Fred, who doesn't like the idea of being involved with Puerto Rican cars: "what's a Puerto Rican car?" "same as a Mexican car, it won't start!" Previously seen in "Watts Side Story," Julio's mother Providencia (Alma Beltran, last of two) drops by with Chico the goat, given a new label from the old junkman: "there they are, the four new business partners - Fuentes, Fuentes, Chico and Dummo!" When Lamont and Julio return home after a busy day, they find Fred gone and a message on his tape recorder, Lamont not concerned about more tall tales from his highfalutin' father. Actually, a flop house seems perfect for Fred G. Sanford's many flip flops!
