"The Older Woman" opens with Fred sharing with Grady his concerns about his moonstruck son with the sunny attitude: "you're you and I'm me, and that's why I love you." Despite the mess left for Lamont he's still looking on the bright side, wearing a new kind of cologne called Days in Paris: "well it smell like nights in El Segundo!" He and Grady recall a boutique where that certain girl works and disguise themselves as two customers, Fred in a pilot's cap and goggles, Grady wearing a huge afro. The proprietor is Grace (Kim Hamilton), her daughter Louise (Brenda Sutton), the dynamic duo unexpectedly bumping into Lamont before they can skip out. The thought that his son is in love with Grace and marriage-minded earns Fred his latest heart attack. He tries to show Lamont the peril of being with an older woman by inviting to dinner Grady's cousin's grandmother (Kathryn Jackson), old enough to toast William McKinley! Lillian Randolph (Annie the maid in "It's a Wonderful Life") has a priceless bit in the boutique (an early appearance in "Here Comes the Bride, There Goes the Bride"), while Kim Hamilton had previously played Carol Davis, a similar character, in "Fred & Carol and Fred & Donna."
