In his 2004 memoir "Gasping for Airtime: Two Years in the Trenches of Saturday Night Live", Jay Mohr recounts that a group called "The Sons of Italy" protested against his sketch "Good Morning Brooklyn" and he was urged to make the character names sound less Italian and to tone down the Italian stereotypes.
