Really First Official S&MK Assignment!
ShelbyTMItchell5 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
At first I will admit that Lee kind of rubbed Amanda the wrong way. I mean here she was a mother, trying to make ends meet and have a life with her two sons and being divorced. As really the guy was so arrogant.

But also can be so charming. As Billy his and soon to be Amanda's boss liked that both were working well in the pilot. That he put them as a married couple.

At first, Amanda seems really annoyed to be lying and sneaking. But Lee tells her that she is doing it for the govt. And doing it the right kind of way to get the bad guys.

Still this is the start of an official assignment for the two. As the first two early seasons were the best of the show.

Francine Lee's former girlfriend and co-worker at the agency was kind of annoying at first but then, she got to know Amanda and became friends with her in the near ending of the series.

Domestic Tranquility?
VetteRanger23 February 2023
Once again the series takes a standard undercover trope and adds layers to it to make a fun episode. A housewife disappears after leaving for a tennis lesson and there may be a connection to illegal arms sales. Scarecrow and Mrs. King take a house in the neighborhood, posing as a married couple, and quickly stumble over the murder of the missing (now known to be murdered) wife.

The neighborhood is rife with home salesladies for a company which sells women's beauty products and appliance accessories, and it seems the murdered woman may have looked at something she was never intended to. Can Scarecrow put it all together in time to save Mrs. King?

Bland. James Bland.

Warning: Spoilers
Plot; Lee (Scarecrow) and Amanda (Mrs. King) go undercover in an upper middle class enclave in an effort to root out an illegal gun running scheme.

Once again credibility takes a backseat to facilitate the rather outlandish premise (unemployed, divorced suburbanite being called in on top secret government missions), but at least some effort is made to make this particular assignment plausible (by 80s TV standards). Posing as a couple allows Boxleitner and Jackson (who are both quite good and likable here) to bond, but thankfully they don't push the inevitable "Will they or won't they?" romantic aspect too much. That plot device can certainly be effective, but it's tough to sustain over a long period of time. As for the episode, there's some breezy, undemanding fun--which is just what I was in the mood for--and it was a nice surprise to see actress Bibi Besch (Star Trek II) show up in a guest starring role as a cut throat Mary Kay style saleswoman.
