Special guest doctors
popshed13 February 2006
Warning: Spoilers
I realise that this may be obvious to most people but there is an ever growing band of people known as 'youngsters' who won't necessarily recognise a few of the guest stars in this episode. The four doctors who are laid up in the ward awaiting treatment all appeared in a forerunner to Scrubs, St Elsewhere.

I was probably a little young to have seen St Elsewhere myself but saw many episodes shown late at night during the late 80s on Channel 4 in the UK. I immediately recognised two of the doctors played by William Daniels and Ed Begley Jnr so assumed (correctly) that both Steven Furst and Eric Laneuville had done the same. Oddly, although presumably for copyright/legal reasons, they did not appear using the same character names as they played in St Elsewhere.

If you like Scrubs then I'd recommend checking out St Elsewhere, it has a similar mixture of comedy and drama. In a similar vein of humour, the last episode of St Elsewhere featured characters from other long running serials including but not limited to The One Armed Man from the Fugitive and Capt Blake from M*A*S*H.
