Too Much Kramer Shower
Hitchcoc2 June 2023
The premier focus in this episode is George, expecting an apology from someone who insulted him year's ago. It involved the wearing of a sweater and big head. As is usually the case, he goes way beyond what a normal person would do. Elaine, in her efforts to put down a germaphobe, brings all the attention to herself, in a negative way. Jerry's thing with his nude girlfriend is OK but does not sparkle. Then we have Kramer and his efforts to live in the shower for the remainder of his life. This part goes on and on and isn't all that funny. If I have any criticism of this show it is its tendency to beat a dead horse.

Warning: Spoilers
The Plot:George wants an apology from someone who insulted him years ago. Now that he is in rehab he expects him to apologize. When he doesn't, George goes to extreme measures to get it. One of Elaine's co workers is a germaphobe and is insulted by an action that she pulls. Jerry dates a woman who is frequently nude in his apartment and learns the difference between good naked and bad naked. Kramer installs a garbage disposal in his shower.

James Spader guest stars as the person who George wants the apology from. He freaks out in one part of the episode. When he is sarcastic to Geroge during his apology, George wants more of one. The apology is a classic episode.

Stanky Hanky the jerky
ThunderKing627 February 2023
I hate Stanky Hanky too. He seemed like a total jerk.

This review on February 27, 2023 is available for you all to read.

What is this episode about?: George goes eye to eye with a jerk step, skipper (Ultron).

Jerry dates a blonde nudist.

Elaine deals with a germaphobe because she's a wh*r3.

Kramer cooks food in the shower. Literally.

What is the story and production like?: Good stories from all four characters. Supporting cast also do a good job. Though, stanky hanky is a jerk.

Production wise, all 4 stories fit with each other one way or another.

Highlight: George desperate for an apology from that jerk

Kramer cooking in the shower.

Laugh meter: 8

Girlfriend attractive level: 9. Didn't get to see a nip though.

What can be learned?: don't trust jerks like Ultron.

Should you watch this?: Yes. It's a solid episode.

Reflections

Warning: Spoilers
It's been interesting to reflect on Seinfeld, having first watched it when it debuted in the 1990s, and now 25-30 years later re-watching most of the episodes. The Apology, when I watched it back in 1997 or so, was humorous and all, but also poignant because it was also part of the final season of Seinfeld, a series which at the time all fans did not want to end. Anyway, having watched The Apology today, the parts, the sub-plots didn't quite add to the whole. Anyway, Michael Fishman, famous for his role in Roseanne, has a supporting role in this, along with James Spader (for some reason I almost typed David Spade) who got special guest star status. It's a shame Michael Fishman didn't get a similar credit like "and Michael Fishman" or something like that init.

Bit of a Humdrum Episode
Samuel-Shovel17 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Apology" Jerry dates a girl whose extremely comfortable being naked around his apartment, much to his chagrin. An old friend of Jerry and George's is in AA and apologizes to Jerry as part of the 12 step program. George is upset he doesn't get an apology as well. Kramer decides to start living in the shower, cooking and talking in the phone in there for hours. Elaine's co-worker thinks Elaine's gross and has germs because she goes through so many boyfriends.

I don't know... None of these storylines really work for me here. Kramer's shower thing is a big shrug from me. Jerry's subplot is okay but Elaine and George's I just find unappealing. There's nothing downright awful here but there's also nothing redeeming either, save a bit role from the great James Spader.
