In "The Millennium" Jerry dates a woman who uses her speed dial numbers to rank friends and family on a daily basis. Kramer and Newman start organizing rival parties for NYE for the millennium. George is offered the Director of Scouting position with the New York Mets but first must get himself fired from the Yankees. Elaine gets bad customer service from a Mayan clothing store so she starts a shopping spree at a rival store, only to find out they both have the same owner.
This episode kind of feels like a forgotten one in a sense. It's not bad but no one ever really talks about it, makes references from it, or quotes it like many of these other episodes from this era. I guess there's nothing super quotable...
I do love George's bit of him being unable to get himself fired. For a man fired many times during this show's run, it's fun turning the tables on him where he can't even get fired correctly.
Jerry's 'The Graduate' subplot isn't terrible but I do get annoyed when the show gets a little to reference and homage heavy. Elaine's is fine but doesn't add too much from a comedic sense. Kramer's storyline really dates this show for worrying about his millennium party. Lots of these episodes could be relevant today but one about Mayan clothing, speed dials, and the year 2000 is definitely not one of them.
