This one sure picked me up.

Anyone who missed this episode has missed one of the very successful and funny conversations that Jerry had with George. Those who love the kind of conversations those two usual have, know what I am talking about.I'll give you a sample but first let me tell you how it happened. Jerry is going out with a model who suddenly sees him while he is driving from another car that he was picking his nose. In fact, he wasn't, he was actually scratching his nose but the angle she saw it from wasn't that clear and therefore, Jerry and George have the following discussion and God ain't they just hilarious:

George: Was there any nostril penetration? Jerry: There may have been some incidental contact. George: Hey, it's me. George: I guarantee you Moses was a picker. You wander through the desert for 40 years with that dry air. You tell me you're not going to have an occasion to clean house a little?

Well, don't you just want to see it now?

Jerry picks his nose and Elaine sends out embarrassing Xmas cards!
SLionsCricketreviews1 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
"The Pick" is another excellent episode. Tia, the model on plane "The Airport", sees Jerry picking his nose. George begins to lust for Susan after their breakup. Elaine sends out Christmas cards with a picture of her....and an exposed nipple!

It is probably fair to say that Jerry's story is the weakest, almost as per usual. Elaine's story is THE highlight for me in this episode, and George's story-line is hysterical. Had this being any weaker Elaine storyline, George's story would prevail as the strongest part of this episode.

Jerry's story, and his constant nagging about not 'picking' but rather 'scratching' his side of his nose was funny. But it isn't the most memorable part of the episode. George's constant whining about Susan was hysterical, and in classic George style, he now lusts after something he can't get. George is pathetic, and this episode shows it further. After being glad of his breakup with Susan, he now wants her again! The scene with Elaine's therapist was hilarious and George's "walk up the staircase" at the end of this episode was nothing short of wonderful.

Elaine's storyline is comedic perfection. Her reaction to her exposed nipple, and the way she dunks George's bald head to her breasts (as a Christmas card) was EASILY the standout for this episode. Jason Alexander and Julia Loius-Dreyfus were phenomenal in that scene! Classic "Seinfeld"

Oh yeah....Newman makes another AWESOME appearance! Arguably his funniest cameo appearance yet, he pops up in Jerry's apartment at his request to see if he can spot something odd about Elaine's X-Mas cards. He says, "Yeah, your nipple's showing" and then proceeds to leave! A perfect cameo appearance by the excellent and irreplaceable Wayne Knight.

"The Pick" is brilliant. A must see episode from the fourth season.

Newman!

Warning: Spoilers
Wayne Knight is on screen for 9 seconds and completely owns the episode.😂

The only way to get the focus back to Jerry is to have him take his shirt off and show his nipples! 😂

Brilliant Parody of Shylock's Speech from Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice
ealatimer19 July 2015
"The Pick" blurs the lines between pop culture and high art, comedy and profound cultural commentary. Jerry's spoof on Shylock's famous speech from Act 3, Scene 1 of William Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice--"do we not bleed?" raises interesting questions about the portrayal of Jewishness in popular culture, especially as connected to the Jewish stereotype of a big nose. In fact, most of the subplots in the episode have some connection to the tension between Jewish identity and the experience of Anglo culture. What is comedic on the surface gains depth in literary context, making Shakespeare's text accessible to a broader audience and demonstrating how discourse about Jewishness and cultural stereotypes is alive and well in popular media. This is a good reference: http://structureseinplay.blogspot.com/2009/06/moses-was-picker.html.

Jerry find shallow girls.
ThunderKing621 March 2023
I've never picked my nose. It's gross but I wouldn't dump a girl because of that. Unless she's a dognutter.

March 21st 2023rd. This is the date this review was typed on Imbd.

What happened in this episode?: Jerry is caught not picking his nose.

Elaine's pinky nip is exposed

George is lead Susan's fate to a grave.

Kramer was ripped off by a corporation

Story and The Production Overview: A very fun enjoyable episode. Tons of shaningans going on to distract you.

Highlight: George being A C4... Jerry and Elaine's speech. I AM NOT AN ANIMAL!

Laugh meter: 8

Villian: George and Jerry's girl. She was too shallow and doesn't listen.

Girlfriend attractiveness level: 10 but she shallow.

What can be learned?: don't date shallow girls.

Verdict: an episode that I would pick.

"Was there any nostril penetration?"
juanmaffeo14 July 2016
The streak that began with The Contest and ended with The Pick is amazing. Never before or after had they been able to sustain such high quality for four continuous episodes.

The pick has four story lines. The best is, of course, Elaine's. Everything about it rings funny: the revelation of the nip slip, checking with Newman, the nickname in the office, her nephew hiding the picture. The other three stories are more restrained but they are all great. Jerry losing his girlfriend because she caught him picking his nose, Kramer finding out Calvin Klein stole his fragrance and George trying to get back with Susan. The only thing I don't like about the episode is George going to the therapist. It doesn't lead to anything and it isn't really funny.

Apart from that, The Pick is another episode that cements Season's 4 status.

Excellent Ep - but watch out for that dry desert air!
briginsh19 December 2023
Although it's only about 10 seconds, I had to pause 3 or 4 times to get through George's ridiculous, hilarious speech to Susan about Louis and Mrs Pasteur. Alexander and Swedberg did well to get through it without "corpsing" (laughing), and it does cut away very quickly. Kramer's underwear modeling is also a scream, Richards' physical comedy skills stronger than ever. I haven't even mentioned the Christmas card subplot, Newman's scene-stealing 10 second guest spot, or the ruminations of George on Moses' hygiene in the ancient desert. This episode sustains a superb level of humor virtually throughout. Absurdly good, absurd... and also good.

Nip and Tuck and Pick!
Hitchcoc3 September 2022
George is forlorn after losing Susan. Now that she is out of the picture, he sees her as perfect. He acts like an idiot, moping around, giving up on life. Eventually, he goes to see a shrink, but the zipper on his coat gets caught. The scene is hilarious. Poor Jerry is in his car, next to a cab, when that gorgeous model sees him pick his nose. Following are some of the most incredible lines, especially concerning whether Moses picked his nose. Oh, and there is a meeting with Calvin Klein (yes the real one) where Kramer gets to strut his stuff. But in addition is picture taken of Elaine by Kramer which she puts on her Christmas card, sending it to numerous friends and relatives. But there is something she didn't notice. Great effort!
