- Miranda feels a double failure as neither motherhood nor professional life can get her full attention, and her neighbors give her dirty looks about her screaming baby. Samantha feels her own problems, such as a broken vibrator, are no less important, and demonstrates her expertise on the subject in the shop. Carrie encourages Samantha to acknowledge that Miranda is now a mother, and Samantha eventually offers to babysit Brady while Miranda goes to her hairdresser. When Charlotte feels uncomfortable talking tough with her attractive lawyer about Bunny's divorce terms for Trey, so she switches to his bald partner Harry Goldenblatt.—KGF Vissers
- Carrie is nervous as her book's review is out that week.
Carrie deals with her past with Aidan when she runs into Nina Katz (Nadia Dajani), who had dated Aidan after he and Carrie split up for the first time. Nina makes a face at Carrie to suggest that she messed him up good and Nina had to bring him back from the dead.
Charlotte hires a tough lawyer Matthew Bloom (Victor Browne) (from Bloom and Goldenblatt) to go up against Bunny in a fight to keep her apartment. Bunny has been hiding all her assets to ensure that Charlotte does not get anything as part of the divorce. Charlotte finds Matthew very attractive and says she wants what was promised to her, the apartment. Trey's family owns the apartment and Charlotte's name was never on the deed. And Trey is out of the country.
Harry Goldenblatt (Evan Handler) is Matthew's partner, whom Charlotte's meets at their offices and she finds him not as cute as Matthew. She changes lawyers and gets Harry to represent her instead. Bunny tries to bury Charlotte in legal process and counter claims. She is only willing to offer the coin collection. Bunny says that Charlotte ran away from the marriage as soon as things got tough. Trey sends a telegram to settlement meeting and instructs Bunny to stop and asks that the apartment be transferred to Charlotte.
Carrie gets a rave review from the NYT, but the reviewer writes that Carrie believes men are disposable. Turns out Samantha knows Nina as she is the Booker for Saturday Night Live. Nina has been bad mouthing Carrie all over town and Carrie meets her and tells her own side of the story about the break-up with Aidan. But mid-way she realized that she wasn't afraid of Nina, but only herself and walks away.
Miranda has no one to turn to when she needs help taking care of Brady. Brady has been crying non-stop and Miranda hasn't slept for days. All of her clothes smell of vomit, she hasn't had time to shower, or even get a haircut. Miranda is angry at Samantha that she has never offered to help her. Miranda's neighbors are also angry that Brady cries all night and admonish her for not even knowing their names for all these years. Carrie tells Samantha that Miranda is their friend, and she is sinking. Samantha tells Carrie that babies are not her scene.
Samantha tries to return a spent vibrator. Very soon she is giving advice to women in the store about which one to buy and why/why not. She then spends some of her free time on Miranda and sends her to a hair cutting appointment. One of the neighbors Kendall (LisaGay Hamilton), takes pity on Miranda, & gives Miranda a vibrating chair that makes Brady quiet down. Kendall realizes that Miranda's friends don't have kids either, hence she had nobody to guide her about what to do. She assures Miranda that she is not a bad mother, she just didn't know about the chair. The chair breaks down and Samantha used her new vibrator to fix it.
