Duel and addiction
safenoe19 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
An episode that is trademark Simpsons, that jumps from one unrelated sub-plot to the next and the next. E-I-E-I-(Annoyed Grunt) starts off with a parody of Saving Private Ryan and cola sponsorship, then to Zorro, then duels, then to living on a farm and then to tobacco addiction and massively billions of dollars of sponsorship.

It kind of works well although the duel resolution at the end was kind of forced in a way. But still, this episode is worth watching as it was screened as we approached the millenium (for those who think the millenium started on 1 Jan 2000 I guess).

I sometimes wonder when The Simpsons will end.

Good-natured silliness

Fleeing town to avoid a fight is a common tale - although how many of those end in the coward starting his own farm, harvesting nicotine tomatoes and courting Big Tobacco?

It's fairly thin on plot (actually A.D.D., given the gag-a-minute approach) but oh man, the gags are funny. Homer does battle with a tractor, a raccoon and common sense. And the jokes come one after another. it's a worthwhile distraction.

Best Episode Ever

From start to finish the cast and crew deliver one of the best Simpsons episodes to ever grace the small screen. The writing is tightly wound together, especially the part where Homer visits the supply store, Sneed's Feed and Seed (formerly Chuck's), non stop laughs during that exchange. The show hit the high water mark in this episode and will never return to glory. In my opinion, the only way to get better is to give us more Sneed and his delightful seed and feed, perhaps Chuck's antics too ;) moeposters btfo

Masterful
22 minutes of pure distilled A24, slow burn, bone chilling, atmosphere-oozing, trope-subverting, genre-redefining, gut-wrenching, spine-tingling, emotionally taxing, paranoia-inducing, jaw-clenching, nerve-wracking, character-development driven, soul-shaking, nail-biting, anxiety-written, kafkaesque, post-lynchian, tarkovskian, kubrickian, tarantinoesque, question-asking, socially-aware, ethnically-diverse, politically-cognisant, culturally relevant, socially-prescient, thought-provoking, artisanally-crafted, philosophically sound, thematically nuanced, dread inducing, post comedy, avant-garde, meta-ironic, anti-humor, post-neo-satire KINOGRAPHY.

Still at the top of its game

There's always a lot of talk where 'The Simpsons' is concerned about when the peak years were, and the decline in quality after that, but for me this 11th series has started bang on form, with a very good run of episodes.

I love all the 'Zorro' inspired stuff here, and the way the story plays out. There are some wonderful lines along the way.

Again, it's Homer as the focus, but I don't mind that.

Forget all the talk of 'peaks' and 'declines' and just enjoy a fab episode.

Simpsons Never Ever Elicits Disappointment
eatingcheeseallnight2 March 2021
From start to finish, this episode a classic example of what makes the Simpsons the GOAT of animated television. A perfect blend of pithy remarks, wry humour, and well paced absurdism makes this episode possibly THE greatest Simpsons episode of all time. From start to finish this episode is a non-stop side splitter, with one of the greatest Simpsons jokes of all time on your screen for a fraction of a second (read the first letter of each word in the title of my review if you're still unsure). If you're not much of a Simpsons head, and you're looking for the quintessential episode to introduce you to this family of 5, I suggest you start here.

I rate it 10/10 (formerly 7/10).

GLOVE SLAP!

This episode was really funny. The only problem is that in season 6 the house burned down at the farm but it remains in this episode as if it didnt happen it just always bothered me how much inconsistencies are there and how the years change but they never age. The episodes are funny regardless. Homer glove slapping everybody was hilarious. The tomacco bits were hilarious and the nicotine addicted animals was really creepy and funny. Especially the cow that speaks and goes TOMACCO! Was hilarious 10/10.

the perfect Episode

Fantastic episode with great jokes and characters, smart writing and timeless jokes.

I remember watching this episode for the first time when I was a kid and not getting some of the jokes but when I watched it again as a teen I appreciated its genius.

Sneed's feed and seed(Formerly Chuck's) was the best joke not only in the Simpsons but in TV's history, it first glance you might not get it because it requires a high IQ but if you took your brains medicine(like me) you will understand this brilliant joke and no I will not explain it because it will ruin the joke for you.
