The farce is strong with this one

'Mayored to the Mob' is beyond silly - and I'm still not sold on that rat milk scheme - but the nonsense works well enough. Personally, I'm just tickled whenever Fat Tony shows up. And Homer's questionable turn as a bodyguard is surprisingly funny.

Funniest of all is Mark Hamill, leaning into the guest-star role and perfectly at home spoofing Luke Skywalker. He's on the top shelf of Simpsons guest stars.

Cute episode that is very funny and earns Homer another job to put on the resume. The beginning and how he becomes a bodyguard is very casual but then the episode settles down a bit and becomes more linear, also putting in a good ending.

When the fat man becomes a threat, Homer becomes the Mayor's bodyguard. He even goes to bodyguard school. He is quite good at his job until it is discovered the school is handing out rat's milk. I did enjoy Hamill in the Guys and Dolls musical offering. He actually turns out to be a first rte coward.

Mark Hamill and Alf!

Definitely a more than memorable Simpsons episode, especially for someone like me who grew up on Star Wars and of course Alf, yes Alf! I chuckled big time (and still do when replaying the scene in my head) at the promo for the sci-fi convention which promoted Mark Hamill, Alf and many more (with Mark and Alf popping up again!). Sure, maybe later generations of Simpsons fans aren't able to appreciate Mayored to the Mob and the pop culture references galore but by far this episode can proudly cap off the golden era of The Simpsons which I think is the first 10 seasons.

Mayored to the Mob gets a 10 out of 10.
