That's My Name, it's...

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is one of my all-time favorites.

From Homer leaving Moe's in the snowstorm and wrecking both his car and Marge's car, to Adam West at the auto show and Homer getting sucked in to buying a truck just because the salesman made whip noises was priceless. .....and were not even to the halfway point of the episode.

Enough from me.

This is a highly recommended episode!

Mr. Plow

This is an outstanding episode of the show, and one I never get tired of watching. 30 years old now too - it doesn't look it.

There are so many memorable moments, jokes and scenes here. It's full to the brim of good moments, and its heart is very much in the right place.

Top draw 'The Simpsons' is unbeatable, and while the show is still good, it can never hold a candle to the quality that's on show here.

It's got slapstick, it's got satire, it's got a very high gag ratio - and it all lands perfectly over the course of its run time.

Overall, this is a wonderful offering from 'The Simpsons' and certainly represents the show at its brilliant best.

Homer Plows Snow!
g-bodyl4 January 2015
This is the ninth episode of the fourth season of the Simpsons and this happen to be a fairly solid episode that is quite funny. It features some world-class cultural references regarding Batman Forever and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. There are some good cameos by the original Batman himself, Adam West and singer Linda Rondstadt. I also liked the theme of friends becoming rivals as that is the main theme here.

In this episode, "Mr. Plow," after destroying his car, Homer decides to buy a snowplow and he starts his own business named Mr. Plow. But competition comes along in the name of Plow King aka Barney Gumble, which costs Homer lots of business.

Overall, this is a very good episode and one of my season favorites. It is also one of those few episodes that feature snow outside of holiday episodes, which is good to see. But the jokes remain strong and clever as always. I rate this episode 9/10.

One of my favorite Simpsons episodes!
MovieAddict201630 January 2006
This is the historic episode in which Homer becomes a snow plowman during a winter blizzard - and is so successful that Barney tries to edge in on the competition by opening his own plow business, too! Of course, Barney starts to become more popular than Homer - which prompts dirty tactics...

This is one of the funniest "Simpsons" episodes. It contains the hilarious TV commercial in which Homer tries to advertise his business and comes up with the Plow Man Jingle.

It also ends with some surprisingly touching emotional conflict, despite the absurdity of the content.

Definitely a must-see "Simpsons."

Business is business
Mr-Fusion23 August 2017
Homer's disastrous foray into small business leads to a great rivalry between himself and Barney's competing snow-plow enterprise. There's an unusual amount of character development here for Barney, and the episode even has its own touching moments. But it's also got great bit parts for Adam West and Linda Ronstadt (both equally inexplicable).

It's a great one, not just for well-written humor but also that Mr. Plow jingle. You'll be singing it all day.

Great Episode
Christmas-Reviewer25 June 2019
Review Date 6/25/2019

I have Reviewed OVER 500 "Christmas Films and Specials". Please BEWARE Of films and specials with just one review! For instance When "It's a POSITIVE" chances are that the reviewer was involved with the production. "If its Negative" then they may have a grudge against the film for whatever reason. I am fare about these films.

In the episode, Homer buys a snow plow and starts a business plowing driveways. It is a huge success, and inspired by this, Barney Gumble starts a rival company and quickly puts Homer out of business.

Every joke works. The story is pure Simpsons. Please if your not a fan of the show watch this episode!

The only true Catwoman is...

Homer starts a snowplough business.

This is a strong episode with some enjoyable character moments.

This one is in the mould of 'Flaming Moe's' with a strong narrative about Homer in conflict with another regular character, and it is supported by good humour and pop culture references.

My favourite moments include the flashback Homer and Barney's youth, all the movie references, the radio dial gag, Adam West's cameo, and Homer's arty commercial.

For me it's an 8.5/10 but I round upwards.

I Wasn't in a Bar--I Was Buying Pornography

Homer wrecks his car in a snowstorm and decides to purchase a 20,000 dollar snowplow. He starts making a lot of money until Barney decides to purchase an enormous truck and put him out of business. Barney also begins a seemingly romantic relationship with Linda Ronstadt. It ends in a rather charming way.

Warning: Spoilers
For me it's the first 10 seasons that are worth watching and re-watching over and over again. Mr. Plow is no exception, with hilarious moment that I'll never forget for sure. The bridge scene at the end was one for the ages.

For My 100th Review, I Will Review My Favorite Episode of My ( once ) Favorite Show
e_daneva12 January 2024
This is my 100th review on IMDb and instead of reviewing something else I decided that I would review my favorite episode of my favorite show. The Simpsons is the favorite show, and this episode, Mr. Plow, is my favorite episode. The reason that I labled the Simpsons as my once favorite show isnisn't because it's now bad, it's just isn't good enough for the title of my favorite show. Now lets start the review!! Mr. Plow is an AMAZINGLY EXCELLENTLY SPECTACULARLY GREAT episode. When people think of the best episode of the Simpsons they either think of Monorail ( Marge vs. The Monorail ), Mr. Plow, Mr. Plow ( This episode ), Grimey ( Homer's Enemy ), and You Only Move Twice ( Same as the title ). For me the best is Mr. Plow. Okay, I'm going to start screaming. THIS IS JUST VERY CAPTIVE AND INTERESTING. THIS IS ALSO REALLY FUNNY!! THIS EPISODE ALSO HAS LOTS OF HEART TOO!!!! IT'S SUCH SOO GOOD AND IF YOU LIKE THE GOLDEN AGE SIMPSONS THEN THIS EPISODE IS COMPLETELY FOR YOU!!! Okay, I'm done screaming. This episode is so very memorable. I mean who can forget the Mr. Plow song. Mr. Plow, Mr. Plow. I personally think that this is the best episode of the whole show, and the Simpsons has some really good episodes!!! In all, I give this a 10.0 out of 10, 1 out of 1, 100 out of 100, 234,599 out of 234,599. Great!!

A mediocre episode
riparianmoler8 August 2020
This episode isn't bad, but it's nothing great, especially for season 4, which is generally considered to be the highlight of the show. The plot is nothing special, and there are a few funny gags, but nothing like some of the other episodes.
