Jack the Ripper is the best-known name for an unidentified serial killer generally believed to have been active in the largely impoverished areas in and around the Whitechapel district of London in 1888. Five women were brutally murdered between August 31st and November 9th, 1888. "Jack The Ripper" was never caught. It is possible he had numerous other victins, but they have not been conclusively tied to him.
