Maybe it's just me, but I cried through the whole episode practically! I don't know why this one was so moving to me, but I thought it was a great example of what could be done with the premise of the show. Plus, I thought the acting, sets, etc, all seemed really high quality, and there didn't seem to be much of the corny dialogue that typically characterizes 'Sliders'.
I think one thing that made the episode so interesting to me was the subject matter of parenting and formative experiences. You always want to help young people develop and be as good as possible, but it's never really clear how to make that happen. Seeing the passion Quinn displayed in this episode, in spite of what everyone else thought, was very interesting and moving to me.
