The fourth episode to be filmed (after Pilot (2001), Metamorphosis (2001) and Hothead (2001)). "Jitters" was originally slated to run as the third episode (after Pilot (2001) and Metamorphosis (2001)). However, because of constant changes and retooling to the script, it kept getting put back in the schedule. This explains why the episode had three directors - Michael W. Watkins, Greg Beeman and Philip Sgriccia. On the Talkville podcast it was further revealed the credited director quit mid shoot. And it took 5 months of on and off filming that guest actor Tony Todd had to keep flying back Vancouver to film his scenes.
This is the first episode in the series to have a scene set in Metropolis.
Clark Kent uses the following abilities in this episode: super strength, super speed, and X-ray vision.
