Stritching the truth.

Warning: Spoilers
Let's face it. Anytime that Elaine Stritch is on camera regardless of whether it's a PBS special where she gets to sing one of her Broadway standards or a TV movie of the week or a rare supporting role in a film, you know it's going to be good. She did quite a few sitcoms over the years in between Broadway shows, and anytime she showed up, there was going to be fun to be had regardless if she was Ellen Burstyn's mother, or Alec Baldwin's, or stepping into a classic Shirley MacLaine role where everybody wanted to take a whack at her.

In this episode of the Dan Aykroyd sitcom, she makes her second appearance as the patroness of the church Ackroyd is the preacher at, arguing over his son's claimed that he has seen an angel. But her seemingly severe character isn't above a little flirting, using her wheelchair to emulate sexual innuendo when Aykroyd indicates that there showers not working and she offers the use of hers. She definitely had a spark with Aykroyd, and her final appearance in a dream sequence is hysterically funny. Too bad the show didn't continue. She would have been a fascinating recurring character.
