When the lawyers show up to take Cartman's money one of them mentions that a portion of the money was being taken due to "the little boy who died in his park." Cartman responds with "Who? Kenny? He dies all the time!" This is the first time that one of the character mentions how often and frequently Kenny is killed, and revived in the next episode.

The entire storyline plot is an allegory for the lesson "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away" from the bible's Book of Job. Therefore, that would equate Eric Cartman to Job, given that in the plot development Cartman comes to good fortune, but to lose it later on.
Despite this episode opening with the funeral of Cartman's grandmother, her death appears to have been quietly retconned as in later episodes, Cartman talks about her as if she's still alive and well.
