- Twist: Why Brian? I happen to like going out! It's important for me to be seen out!
- Brian: Yeah, well I don't want to go out, I want to stay in.
- Twist: Oh, and have sex! That's all you want to do, I'm not just here for one thing! Why can't you see me as a whole?
- Brian: I do.
- Twist: A whole Brian, with a 'w'!
- Brian: Oh.
- Tim Bisley: You ready, Mike?
- Mike Watt: I was born ready, Timmy.
- Tim Bisley: Yeah, but are you ready now?
- Mike Watt: Uhh... yeah.
- Tim Bisley: You got anything special planned for today?
- Daisy Steiner: I have got a bit of a project, actually. I'm going to be as inactive as I can in order to really get into the psyche of someone unemployed, not just vocationally but cerebrally, to see if the predicament of enforced passivity exacerbates itself. You know, does inactivity breed laziness?
- Tim Bisley: Are you going to write an article about it?
- Daisy Steiner: No, I can't be bothered.
- Tyres: And how are you, my little pocket Shakespeare? Come up with any exciting literary characters lately?
- Daisy Steiner: Yes, actually, yes. Dizzy Steinway.
- Tyres: I like it, I like it. What is she, some sort of crime-busting jazz singer?
- Daisy Steiner: No, actually, it's the name I'm using to sign on.
- Tyres: [getting up and stepping towards her] You wanna get up off your arse and get yourself a job, Dizzy, or whatever your name isn't!
- [suddenly he's sitting down again]
- Tyres: Nice hair by the way.
- Tyres: I understand you two, uh, "friends" wanted to talk to me?
- Tim Bisley: Yeah, I was just wondering if you could run my portfolio over to Darkstar for me.
- Tyres: [getting up] Oh, I see, you don't call me for weeks and all of a sudden you want a favour? That's nice, that is! Do you know the last time I seen you, you said you wished that I was your da and you hugged me for the entire length of the acid-tweaking funk mix of Josh Wink's Higher State of Consciousness. And now you want me to ferry around your "art" for you?
- Tim Bisley: [meekly, recoiling] Yes, please.
- Tyres: [is suddenly sitting down again and calm] OK.
