Jill Weller is a high school student whose family moved from a farming community to Chicago.
After getting date raped Jill plans to runaway back to her home state. She encounters psychotic Maxie Lyons (Brad Dourif) who kills the pawnbroker who he believes has betrayed him.
Jill witnessed the murder and Lyons has abducted her. Soon Lyons goes after Spenser for wounding him.
After being Oscar nominated in One over the Cuckoo's Nest. Dourif seems to have specialised in weirdos and baddies as he has got older.
He is unhinged as Lyons, even shooting Spenser on the leg.
The story also opens with Spenser saving Hawk's life. It also deals with the issues of teenage runaways and date rape.
