In one scene Dr. Auschlander says to Ebenezer Wright, "In all candour, Eb, you're treating this as a cabaret." Kander & Ebb were the composer & lyricist who wrote the musical Cabaret.
Ebenezer Wright's last words just before collapsing from a heart attack while addressing the hospital staff are, "In conclusion, I'd like to say..." but what he actually says is "In occlusion..." A coronary occlusion is a blockage of a coronary artery.
When Dr. Auschlander talks with Marley Wright in the chapel, she mentions "our house, with two cats in the yard. Life used to be so hard." This is a reference to the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song "Our House."
Dr Craig tells Eb before surgery, "this is a risky business, but I'm a top gun. We'll cruise through this."
The title is from the The Beach Boys' song "Good Vibrations" composed by and produced by Brian Wilson, with lyrics by Wilson and Mike Love.
