- After being rendered unconscious during an expedition, Carter's subsequently-ordered furlough is interrupted by a mysterious being with a message and growing affection for her.
- SG-1 finds a weapon on planet P4X-636. As Carter is inspecting it, a spirit alien interacts with her. But Carter passes out. So the alien follows them back through the Stargate. Hammond believes there may be something wrong with Carter and sends her home. The alien takes the form of a man and calls himself Orlin. He lives with Carter for a while and the rest of SG-1 think she's going crazy. In time, Orlin and Carter fall in love. - On planet P4X-636 SG-1 finds the remains of an ancient civilization long ago destroyed. While Sam is examining a device of some sort she is knocked unconscious by an energy force. She recovers and is keen to continue working on the device she's found, which they now think may be a powerful weapon. General Hammond insists, however, that she take some leave. At home, she soon meets a strange man who is the force she had come into contact with on P4X-636. He has great powers and had been stranded on the planet for a very long time. - While exploring a destructed planet, the SG-1 finds a strange device that might be a weapon. Out of the blue, Sam faints, and the team returns to the SGC. General Hammond gives a leave to Sam to recover. However, Sam finds that an alien entity has followed her back home and communicates only with her. When she reports to the SGC, her house is bugged, but nobody finds any evidence of the alien form, and her colleagues believe she is crazy. Meanwhile, the being takes a human form of a man called Orlin to better communicate with her, and he falls in love with her. - Exploring planet P4X-636, SG-1 discovers its advanced civilization extinct by total destruction. After identifying the device presumed the apocalyptic weapon, Sam faints inexplicably and is given recovery leave, then take the technical lead as the Pentagon decides to attempt repairing the device so it can be tested back on the planet by Colonel Reynolds's team. Sam's technical worries about overload danger mature into full opposition as she learns her fainting was caused by an alien, who remains invisible to others, but gradually reveals to be 'ascended' alien Orlin, of Oma's transcendental race, admits his unrequited feeling for her and having broken is kid's rules by giving the planet race the technology to chase the Goa'uld only to be used against each-other. Even Jack and Teal'c doubt Sam's sanity, Hammond is ordered to have he spied upon and continue the test, but accepts a delay for Dam to conduct further study. Orlin explains to her he was exiled there as punishment and takes mortal human form. Agreeing activating the device with naquadah-reactor would be disastrous, he improvises a rudimentary stargate, risking everything with a surprise result.—KGF Vissers
