Black Bean Soup!
Any David Soul fan would recognize "Black Bean Soup" being sung by him at the end of the episode as the B side on his #1 hit "Don't Give Up On Us". If you remember 45 RPM records that is. Glad I still have my copy. So fun to watch that interaction! In the second half of the first season it was clear the show was a hit and David's musical career was just around the corner. In that first season, regardless of the lack of the forthcoming popular theme song, the die was cast and the show clearly had rhythm. Several of the first episodes like "The Fix" were the best of the series. I can see where Elvis Costello penned "Watching The Detectives" from.
