Albert is checking his Premium Bonds to see if he has won as Harold ridicules his chances of winning. It is just that Albert has won £1000, a small fortune back in 1964. However Harold sold his share of the bonds to Albert so he had money to join a tennis club and his nose has been put out of joint because Albert refused to share the winnings equally.
Albert goes up west to spruce himself up. A haircut, shave, new teeth and new clothes. He is almost recognisable dressed as a dandy, in fact Harold has to do a second take as he thought it was a punter who came into the yard.
Albert returns from the West End with Madge who Harold suspects is a gold-digger and he needs to convince Albert that she is up to no good even if it means making out Albert is frothing mad.
A young June Whitfield plays tarty Madge and Wilfrid Brambell is having a hoot being all dapper and rubbing Harold up with his outlandish spending.
