'Talespin' has always been a show dear to my heart. One of those favourites from a young age that holds up really well, and is even more entertaining through adult eyes from appreciating the writing and stories even more.

Have been on a roll reviewing individual episodes for certain shows, animated, non-animated and of as many genres as possible (many as part of certain quests), and decided to do it with 'Talespin' and some others. Something that, as expected and hoped, has proven to be a more than worthwhile project and experience. "Your Baloo's in the Mail" is a great episode and towards the top ranking the episodes if not quite one of my very favourites.

The animation is very colourful and atmospheric as always. The music matches what is going on perfectly and it is impossible to forget or resist the theme song, one of the catchiest for anything Disney and ever.

Writing is witty, very funny without being too silly and thought-probing without being complicated. Things don't get too childish and it is all easy to follow. The story is hugely compelling and lively in pace without being rushed, and executes a nice idea imaginatively.

Baloo is a very likeable lead character. Rebecca is charming and intelligent on top of suitably shrewd and ambitious which doesn't go overboard that it grates.

Voice acting is terrific, Ed Gilbert is a spirited Baloo. Sally Struthers brings sass and authority.

Concluding, yet another great episode in a show full of them and with not one episode that is less than very enjoyable. 9/10 Bethany Cox

Warning: Spoilers
As you know I like Talespin very much, I do like most of the episodes except there's an episode I would like to forget.

Rebecca has to take her daughter to the play and gives Baloo her lottery ticket she won without telling him about it. Baloo spends his money on fast food and realizes he and Kit doesn't have enough money for first class and then mails it to 20th class and then has to travel with the mailman in Baloos Airplane, they hurry over to the ticket only to be a few seconds too late and Baloo is upset, he breaks the bad news to Rebecca and they throw the ticket away in the trashcan, then someone comes to their house and tells them they won. But then the dump truck comes and takes their trash and Baloo runs after the dump truck only to end on a cliffhanger.

I'm very disappointed in this episode, why would Rebecca not tell Baloo about the lottery ticket, also why is she gambling? I thought this was supposed to be a kids show. Why is Disney encouraging ticket lottery gambling? I didn't like that Rebecca kept winning a secret from Baloo and then he had to painfully travel with a copilot to the ticket booth only to be a few seconds too late. This episode was a big letdown for me and I would rather forget about it.

Thankfully there are other Talespin episodes which are far better to watch, do yourself a favor and skip this episode even on DVD and Disney Plus or download and watch the other episodes instead.
