- Pat Garrett: Good morning, Miss Amy. What can I do for you?
- Amy Beckett: I've come to give myself up, Sheriff.
- Pat Garrett: Oh? For what?
- Amy Beckett: For helping a prisoner to escape.
- Pat Garrett: You must be mistaken. None of my prisoners escaped.
- Amy Beckett: But, Sheriff, you know what I did.
- Pat Garrett: Yes, I know what you did. You fell in love with the wrong person, Amy. That's a crime we've all been guilty of sometime or other. If we got punished for it, the jails would never be empty.
- [last lines]
- Andy: Amy, we had a date, remember? I'm holdin' you to it.
- Amy Beckett: I'd like that Andy. I'd like that very much.
- Andy: Oh, Pat, don't stand in any drafts. I'd hate to see you catch chicken pox or mumps.
- [Garrett chuckles as Andy and Amy ride off]
